We at Home Energy Compliance Raters are certifed home specialist who performs standardized evaluations of the energy efficiency of new & existing homes. The evaluation includes:
Plans review and analysis.
- We will evaluate your home plans and construction practices to pinpoint the specific, cost-effective improvements needed to qualify your homes to earn the ENERGY STAR.
Computer analysis.
- We use a proprietary software program that cannot be bought in stores to evaluate and rate a house. This software program is approved by the NYS Department of State. See. http://www.dos.state.ny.us/code/energycode/Forms_code/REMRate.pdf
Issue preliminary compliance certificate for building department filing.
- In order to file for a building permit, most municipality on Long Island require a preliminary code compliance certificate to be file together with the building permit package application.
On-site inspections.- Typically there are three routine inspection process. Air-sealing, insulation, and final testing. However, a thorough evaluation of a house under construction requires 4 to 5 inspections to correctly identify area of upgrades and remedies.

Home Energy Ratings.
- We are trained and certified home energy professionals, qualified to provide verification services for EPA's ENERGY STAR program. Once all the required testing is performed and passed in conjunction with the approved ventilating systems, the home can be labeled as energy star.
Diagnostic testing such as; combustion safety test, blower door test, duct leakage test, splliage test, and CAZ depressuization test.
- We offer assurance that your homes perform efficiently with the help of diagnostic equipment, including a blower door test to evaluate the leakiness of the home envelope and a duct blaster test to gauge the leakiness of the duct system
Recommend a list of improvements and energy star products that meet or exceed the EPA guidelines.
Performs thermal bypass checklist.
- We can help you minimize homeowner complaints by verifying that your homes pass ENERGY STAR's new Thermal Bypass Checklist (TBC). “Thermal bypasses” are areas within the home where heat can flow around or through insulation because the insulation is poorly aligned with the air barrier or the air barrier is missing or incomplete.

Infrared Technology
- We use infrared cameras to help you improve quality control and homeowner comfort. Infrared cameras can ‘see' what is behind the walls and pinpoint areas where heat and cold are escaping, so they can be sealed and properly insulated.
